Welcome to the New Art Centre

The New Art Centre (NAC) is the first centre of its kind in Kent. It was opened in 2002 by the Halpern Charitable Foundation to give artists a chance to develop and display their talents. We have over 30 studios for artists practicing a wide range of disciplines - from painting and printmaking to sculpture and design.

New Art Centre Facilities

Located conveniently close to Chatham town centre’s car parks and bus and train stations, our facilities include:

Gallery – Artist’s studios - Education programme – Café with Wireless Internet and Courtyard Garden – Kiln for hire - Function Room for hire

Workshops

We offer an exciting and varied programme of art workshops throughout the year suitable for all ages and abilities. Many of the workshops are free of charge and are professionally run by our highly experienced in-house artists. Check out the workshops page for further details!

Art Exhibitions

The New Art Centre Gallery regularly holds inspirational exhibitions and provides the only affordable space for local, national and international artists and colleges to present their exhibitions in the Medway towns.

Entrance to the gallery is free and it is available to hire to external exhibitors. Please read our Newsletter to keep up to date with what's happening at the centre and learn about our current exhibitions and events.
